Sweet Dreams UT

Sick of your CPAP?

There's another way

Many people quit their CPAP because of the mask, the hose, and the noise. Our mouthpiece takes all three away. You wear it in your mouth while you sleep, and it helps keep your airway open.

It takes 1 minute. We text you back right away

Does this sound like you?

Your mask leaks or comes off at night.

Your mouth or nose feels dry.

The hose and machine feel like too much.

The noise wakes you or your partner.

You stopped using it, but you still feel tired.

You are not alone. Many people stop using CPAP. There are other choices.

Here's how it works

Get your scan

We scan your whole mouth. Every mouth is different, so your mouthpiece is made just for you. Dr. Nelson looks at your teeth and bite to plan the right fit. No sleep test yet? We help you get one you can take at home.

3

Wear it and get checked

We test your sleep apnea again and confirm it's working.

What is the mouthpiece?

It is a small mouthpiece made from a scan of your mouth. It gently holds your jaw a little forward while you sleep. That helps keep your airway open.

You wear it at night. It fits in your pocket. No hose. No cord. No machine.

It may not be right for everyone. Dr. Nelson will tell you if it is not.

Dr. Nelson Glassett, DDS, Diplomate of International Academy Of Sleep

A licensed dentist in Utah for 30 years. He graduated from Howard University. He speaks English and Spanish.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends that sleep doctors consider a mouthpiece for adults who cannot use CPAP or prefer another treatment.

Questions people ask

Does it work as well as CPAP?

- In studies, CPAP lowers breathing pauses more. But a treatment only works if you use it. In one study, people wore the mouthpiece longer each night. We test your sleep again to check.

Do I need a sleep test?

- Yes. A sleep test is how we know you have sleep apnea. If you do not have one, we help you get one.

Will it hurt my teeth or jaw?

- No, after your adjustment period, your mouth will get comfortable with it, like a retainer. *if not fitted correctly, it can cause problems but we offer free adjustments to make sure it fits well

Why a dentist?

- Dr. Glassett has been trained in sleep appliances and is a Diplomate of the International Academy Of Sleep. He knows the mouth well and can make sure your device fits properly and is adjusted to your needs.

What happens after I book?

- Our sleep coordinator will reach out to you. He will answer your questions and set up your visit.
